OUR MISSION
The mission of Promiseland is to supplement the family in their process to lay a spiritual foundation that, in God’s timing, will lead a child into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
PROMISELAND POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
SAFETY
There are viewing windows in every room so the team leaders can look into the classrooms at anytime. There is always a minimum of two volunteers per room, and a team leader is available for support. In regards to the safety of the children, we have a numbered label system, sign in at each classroom for identification, requesting that the adult is responsible for this procedure both at arrival and departure. The number on the label will appear on the screens downstairs if your child needs you. (If you have a problem or physical limitations please let the Team Leader know.)
ILLNESS
Please refrain from bringing your child to Promiseland if one or more of the following are present:
• If your child has a temperature of 101 or higher
• If your child is throwing up or has diarrhea
• If your child has any contagious disease, including but not limited to the following: chicken pox, conjunctivitis (pink eye), impetigo, etc.
DISCIPLINE
Ages infant - 3 years: Redirection is the main form of discipline at this age. Children may be spoken to firmly, but lovingly.
Ages 3 years and up: Children will first be spoken to by the teacher or volunteer. If the situation cannot be resolved in the classroom, the child will be sent out of the room to the Team Leader. They will again be lovingly spoken to about appropriate, acceptable behavior. A general rule for “time-out” is one minute per each year of the child’s age. The child should then be returned to class, with positive expectations. However, in the instance that the disruptive or disrespectful behavior cannot be resolved, the parent/guardian of the child will be asked to address the issue directly and immediately.
